Early Voting Begins February 21st

You Can Vote Early in the Republican Primary!

Summit County – Early voting begins Wednesday for the March 19, 2024 primary election.

Voters will be able to cast there ballots early at he Summit County Board of Elections located at 500 Grant Street in Akron. The deadline to register to be able to vote in the primary is Tuesday February 20th.

This primary will decide not only candidates for president and a U.S. Senate seat. The 13th congressional district is another high-profile race here in Summit County, in addition to many other local races including county-wide offices, County Council District races, and many judicial races to name a few.

When can I vote early in person?

In-person early voting hours at the Board of Elections are:

  • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. February 21 to March 8
  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9
  • 7:30 a.m. to 7:30p.m. March 11
  • 7:30 a.m. to 8:30p.m. March 12
  • 7:30 a.m. to 7:30p.m. March 13 to March 15
  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 16
  • 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. March 17

The last day to vote early in-person is March 17.

How can I vote absentee?

Can’t make to vote early in-person, don’t worry, registered voters can request an absentee ballot. To vote by mail, click the link below to request an absentee ballot.

Request Absentee

Absentee ballots will be mailed beginning Feb. 21. When you receive your ballot, completely fill out the ballot and ID envelope. Once completed, mail the ballot to the Summit County Board of Elections.

Election Day in-person voting

Polls will be open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 19. In-person voters will need to show a valid and unexpired photo ID on Election Day.
